Wilkins Three Hands Skyforce Fourth Straight Defeat

Sioux Falls, SD (Dec. 12, 2014) - A three-pointer from Damien Wilkins gave the Iowa Energy a 104-103 lead with 5.0 seconds left. Andre Dawkins had a chance to win it for the Sioux Falls Skyforce but his shot did not fall as time expired and the Skyforce saw there losing streak extended to four games.

The Skyforce (3-6) got off to a fast start as they jumped out to a 13-4 lead less than three minutes into the game. The Skyforce didn't trail in the first quarter and led 32-27 going into the second quarter. Nine second quarter points from Jordan Adams saw the Central Division leading Energy (5-3) cut into the Skyforce's lead as Sioux Falls led 54-53 after the first half. Led by eight third quarter points from Kalin Lucas, the Energy took a 75-73 lead into the fourth quarter. Iowa started the fourth quarter on a 12-to-4 run and led 87-76 with 9:47 remaining. From there the Skyforce began to fight back and took a 103-101 lead with 11.9 seconds remaining. The lead would be short lived as Damien Wilkins' three-pointer with 5.0 seconds left gave the Energy a 104-103 victory.

Five of the eight players who saw action for the Energy scored in double figures, led by Damien Wilkins' 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. Jordan Adams, on assignment from the Memphis Grizzlies, added 23 points and eight rebounds. Jarrid Famous, in his first game with the team, came off the bench and recorded a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds).

Andre Dawkins, on assignment from the Miami HEAT, led the Force with 25 points and also dished out six assists. Dawkins finished the night 7-for-15 from the field and 5-for-9 from deep. A.J. Davis chipped in with 19 points and Scotty Hopson scored 15 points (7-for-10 from the field) in his home debut. Khem Birch (14 points and 11 rebounds) recorded his sixth double-double of the season.

The Energy and Skyforce will be back in action tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. CT at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA.
