Julius Sumpf's goal 3:07 into OT gave the Wildcats a dramatic 4-3 victory over the Charlottetown Islanders before 4,800 fans at the Avenir Centre on Saturday night.

On the game winner, Sumpf broke in alone from the blueline after a perfect feed from rookie Shawn Carrier to beat goaltender Carter Bickle, clinching Moncton's 32nd win of the season. Miles Müller scored twice for the Cats (2nd,23rd) and First Star Caleb Desnoyers added his 15th of the season. Defenseman Etienne Morin also moved into 3rd place all-time among Wildcats defensemen with an assist, giving him 146 points. Only Mark Barberio (158) and James Sanford (181) remain ahead of Morin.

Jacob Steinman logged the win with 27 saves and picked up an assist on Mller's powerplay goal. The Wildcats fired 39 shots at Carter Bickle.

The return matchup unfolds Sunday at 3 p.m. from Eastlink Centre. Moncton's last PEI visit was October 14th.

Next week- the Wildcats host #1 overall Baie-Comeau Drakkar Thursday night at 7pm, followed by the Cape Breton Eagles Saturday night at 7pm at Avenir Centre.
