Julius Sumpf's goal 3:07 into OT gave the Wildcats a dramatic 4-3 victory over the Charlottetown Islanders before 4,800 fans at the Avenir Centre on Saturday night.
On the game winner, Sumpf broke in alone from the blueline after a perfect feed from rookie Shawn Carrier to beat goaltender Carter Bickle, clinching Moncton's 32nd win of the season. Jacob Steinman logged the win with 27 saves and picked up an assist on Mller's powerplay goal. The Wildcats fired 39 shots at Carter Bickle.
The return matchup unfolds Sunday at 3 p.m. from Eastlink Centre. Moncton's last PEI visit was October 14th.
