MONCTON N.B. - The Wildcats picked up a huge win this afternoon over the Halifax Moosheads 3-2 in overtime at the Scotiabank Centre!

It was a tight game the whole way through. Halifax scored the lone goal in the first period to carry a 1-0 lead. It was not until the second frame that Moncton would tie it up on a goal by Ozzie King, his second of the season with assists going to Kyle Foreman and Jacob Stewart. With good chances at both ends of the ice the Moose found the back of the net once again at 17:13 of the second to restore their one goal lead. Both Halifax goals this afternoon came on the power play.

With time winding down, Leclerc was pulled in the final minutes of the game to give Moncton the extra attacker and at 18:08 Jacob Hudson banged one in from the side of the night to tie the game at 2-2. This one would need overtime!

Moncton held possession for the majority of the extra frame, registering six shots while holding Halifax to none. With 31 seconds remaining Alex Khovanov wheeled in, and freezing Gravel out of the crease, waited and fired the game winning goal in the empty net!

With today's win the Wildcats now win 8 games in a row and have points in 14 straight games. The team has 30 points on the season, making them first in the Maritime Division and tied for first overall with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
