Moncton Wildcats News Release

MONCTON N.B. - The Moncton Wildcats are excited to welcome Antoine Samuel to the organization as our new Goaltending and Video Coach. Antoine brings experience from both sides of the ice as a player and a coach, and will be a great asset to the team.

Born in St-Eustache, QC, he is an alumnus of the QMJHL who was drafted by the Shawinigan Cataractes, 56th overall in 2013. Antoine was part of three teams during his time in the league: Shawinigan, Baie-Comeau and Quebec, playing in nets for 157 regular season games over four seasons. He also participated in four NHL camps over the years with Buffalo, Anaheim, Toronto and Montreal. Following his playing career in junior came to an end, Antoine began scouting for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in 2018 before taking on the position of goaltending coach for the past two seasons.

"We're excited to have Antoine join our group," said Director of Hockey Operations, Ritchie Thibeau. "His skills as a video coach, and experiences as a player will allow him to help our goalies, and the team as a whole.

When asked how he was feeling about making the move to Moncton, Antoine had this to say. "I'm very grateful to be able to join such a prestigious organization. With training camp just around the corner, I am looking forward to meeting all of the players and I am excited to get things started and contribute to the success of the team."
