WILDCATS READY FOR HOME OPENER
The Moncton Wildcats will open their 2007-2008 season against the St.John's Fog Devils this Sunday September 16 at the Moncton Coliseum. Game time 6PM. An Arctic Cat 650 4 Wheeler valued at $9,999 has been donated by G. Bourque and will be given to a lucky season ticket holder. The official draw will be made during the 2nd Intermission.
The Wildcats finished the exhibition schedule with a record of 4-3-0.The Wildcats will also host their annual Cats Cup and Team BBQ on Main Street Downtown Moncton on Saturday September 15 starting at 9am. Come and meet your 2007-2008 Moncton Wildcats.
EXHIBITION GAMES
Sunday August 19 @ Bathurst KC Irving Centre 7:00PM GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats won their first exhibition game 7-3 against the Acadie Bathurst Titan at the KC Irving Centre. Karl Blain, Martin Baca, Matt Brown, Pierre-Marc Lessard, Jason Lepage and Adam Bezak (2) scored for the Cats. In goal, Tyler Bolduc faced 18 shots and allowed 3 goals. The Wildcats outshot the Titan 48-18.
Thursday August 23 vs. Saint John Tim Hortons 4 Ice Centre 7:30PM GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats won their second pre-season game against the Saint John Sea Dogs at the Tim Hortons 4 Ice Centre by the score of 5 to 4. Matthew Brenton, Brad Smith, Adam Bezak and Marc-André Labelle scored for the Cats in regulation time. On defense, Cody Wilson had a strong game with 2 assists. The Sea Dogs outshot the Wildcats 38-24 but went 0 for 7 on the power play. Charles Lavigne registered the win for the Cats making 34 saves in regulation time and 5 more in the shootout. The only goal in the shootout came from Marcus Watson and took a great shot over the glove of Mathew Dopud.
Saturday, August 25 vs. Saint John Harbour Station 7:00PM GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats lost their first exhibition game of the year on the road against the Saint John Sea Dogs by the score of 3 to 1.The only Wildcats goal came from Phil Mangan at 19:30 of the 2nd period. Goaltender Charles Lavigne played a second consecutive game for the Cats and allowed 3 goals on 25 shots. Payton Liske, Antonio Resendes and Christopher DiDomenico scored for the Sea Dogs while Travis Fullerton and Robert Mayer combined 19 saves for the
win.
Tuesday, August 28 vs. Bathurst Tim Hortons 4 Ice Centre 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats played an outstanding game at the Tim Hortons 4 Ice Centre in front of 1463 fans. The Wildcats outshot the Titan 34-15 and won the game 2-0. Goaltender Nicola Riopel was solid in net for the Wildcats making 15 saves. Both Wildcats goals came from Alexi Pianosi who was selected as the first star of the game. Phil Mangan, Marc-André Labelle and Adam Bezak each finished the night with an assist.
Wednesday, September 5 vs. PEI Charlottetown Civic Centre 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats won their 4th exhibition game of the season against the PEI Rocket at the Charlottetown Civic Centre by the score of 3-1. Myles Gomes, Andrew Eastman and Phil Mangan each had a 2 point game for the Cats while Charles Lavigne made 23 saves for the win. The Wildcats outshot PEI 26-24.
Thursday, September 6 vs. PEI Summerside Wellness Centre 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats suffered their 2nd lost of the exhibition schedule against the PEI Rocket at the Wellness Centre in Summerside. Martin Baca scored the only goal for the Cats assisted by Mark Barberio. Jan Kana, Matthew Lachaine and Brandon MacLean scored for the Rocket. In goal Marc-Antoine Gélinas made 29 saves and Nicola Riopel stopped 19 of 22 shots.
Friday, September 7 vs. Cape Breton Centre 200 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats lost a second consecutive pre-season game tonight against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at the 200 Centre. Matt Eagles and Pierre-Marc Lessard scored for the Cats. In goal, Nicola Riopel gave 4 goals on 18 shots and Charles Lavigne allowed 2 goals on 12 shots in the 3rd period. The Screaming Eagles goals came from Mathieu Brodeur, Jérémie Gouchie, Olivier Dame-Malka, Alexandre Quesnel, Jonathan Laberge and Joey Haddad. In goal for Cape Breton, Marek Benda made 23 saves for the 6-2 win.

Sunday September 16 vs St.John's Fog Devils Moncton Coliseum 6:00PM GAME NOTES: The Moncton Wildcats will play their home opener against the St.John's Fog Devils. The Fog Devils kept a record of 2-4-0 during pre-season and look to improve their 2006-2007record of 28-36-2-4. The Wildcats finished 3rd last season in the Eastern Division with a record of 39-25-4-2

The Moncton Wildcats will host their annual Cats Cup and Team BBQ on Main Street Downtown Moncton on Saturday September 15. The Cats Cup ball hockey tournament will start at 9am and the Team BBQ will take place at 12:00pm at the Farmers Market. Chris Morehouse and the Moncton Wildcats are now looking for applicants for the new section for kids called "Cats Corner with Chris". The new community section for kids was created by Chris Morehouse in partnership with the Greater Moncton Progress Club which has purchased 20 Wildcats season tickets to support the program.
