Val-d'Or Foreurs News Release
VAL-d'OR, Monday, September 10, 2007 - The Val-d'Or Foreurs organisation announced today that they have cut ties with their Director of Hockey Operations, Stéphane Pilotte, after eight seasons. During that span, he helped the team reach the President Cup finals on two occasions. The Foreurs won the title in 2001.
The move came after Pilotte, a teacher, met with team brass during training camp to discuss added workloads at his school. After a few meetings, the two parties eventually decided to go their separate ways.
Head coach Eric Lavigne takes over the GM duties after having signed a three-year contract. He occupied a similar position with the Patriotes of UQTR University during the 1990's.
