
Val-D'Or Defeats Lewiston, 4-1

Val-D'Or, QC - The Foreurs picked up right where they left off with the MAINEiacs on Wednesday night. The Val-D'Or Foreurs defeated the Lewiston MAINEiacs 4-1 on Wednesday night at the Centre Air Creebec in Val-D'Or. The win for Val-D'Or gives them 37 points on the season, and ties them up with the MAINEiacs for the final playoff spot in the 2009 QMJHL playoffs.
Matthew Lachaine scored one goal and two assists for the Foreurs, while his teammate Keven Guerette-Charlad scored two points on two goals. Eric Gelinas scored the lone goal for the MAINEiacs late in the third period on an assist from Patrick Cusack.
Adrien Lemay took the loss for the MAINEics while facing 39 Val-D'Or shots. The MAINEiacs didn't keep Foreurs goaltender Raffaele D'Orso too busy, only firing 18 shots on net during the game. The three stars of the game were: 1) Matthew Lachaine (VDO), 2) Keven Guerette-Charland (VDO), and 3) Marco Scandella (VDO).
The MAINEiacs will drive south to Drummondville for a back-to-back matchup with the Volts on Friday and Saturday night.
