Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON N.B. - With the third overall selection in this year's 2019 QMJHL Entry Draft the Wildcats are proud to select Zachary L'Heureux of the Ch?teauguay Grenadiers.
The 16-year-old forward from Mercier, QC is a goal scorer and power forward we are excited to add to our lineup.
This is the third consecutive year that the Wildcats have had a first round selection. Our last player drafted third overall was Jakob Pelletier in 2017, and we look forward to seeing these two on the ice together.
Zachary played this past season in Chateauguay of the QMAAA, with 41 games played he posted 21 goals and 31 assists for a 52 point season. He was also a member of team Quebec at the 2018-2019 Canada Winter Games, bringing home the gold and was leading scorer on his team with 10 goals and 3 assists in the tournament.
The Wildcats have 12 remaining picks in today's draft and we are excited to continue to add skilled and talented players to our team.
