Wildcats have Christmas feeling for December

The Majesta Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade made it official, the Christmas season is here. The Wildcats braved the cool November wind to wave to thousands of people lining the streets of Moncton Saturday night. The Wildcats also paid a visit to the Progress Club and sick children watching the parade from the pedway at the Blue Cross building.

Santa will have help this year from the Wildcats with their special Holiday Pack. The Holiday Packs are flying off the shelves of the Roar Store, Marks Work Wearhouse and the Wildcats Office. The packs include six flex tickets and a complete set of four special edition Coast Tire bobbleheads.

The Wildcats will host their annual Skate with the 'Cats on December 14th. Fans are invited to lace up with the Wildcats after the game against Cape Breton.

The Wildcats travel mid-week to Cape Breton for a game Wednesday night. They wrap the week up with a game against Rimouski on Sunday. The Wildcats are 1-0 with Cape Breton this season and have yet to play Rimouski. Matt Eagles, Pierre-Marc Lessard, Mark Barberio and Randy Cameron lead the Wildcats in scoring with 34, 25, 22 and 22 points respectively so far this year.

Wednesday November 26th vs PEI Charlottetown Civic Centre 7:00PM GAME NOTES:

Pierre-Marc Lessard was the first to score at 4:08 of the first with assists going to Savard and Jodoin. PEI's Chris Doyle then scored a pair of goals, at 11:20 of the first and 18:24 of the second to give the Rocket their only lead of the night. Scott Brannon came out quick in the thrid period off an assist from Sill at 3:52 to tie the game. PEI's own Brandon Gormley scored the game winner at 15:20 on a power play from Cameron and Barberio.

Moncton was outshot 22:30. The three stars of the game were Doyle with his pair of goals, Gormley with the game winner and Mathieu Tousignant who had an assist on the sedond PEI goal.

Friday November 28th vs Halifax Moncton Coliseum 7:00PM GAME NOTES:

The Wildcats maintained their first place standing in the Atlantic Division of the Q by picking up a single point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Halifax Mooseheads on Friday night. Tomas Knotek scored in the first period for Halifax while Mark Barberio evened the game in the second period with a powerplay goal at 8:26.

A scoreless third and five minute overtime failed to produce a winner. In the shootout, Charles Bety, the seventh shooter beat Moncton goaltender Louis Dominque while Pierre-Marc Lessard failed to tie the score with his opportunity.

Sunday November 30th vs PEI Moncton Coliseum 4:00PM GAME NOTES:

On the ice Sunday, Simon Jodoin scored on the first shot of the game at the 33 second mark and that lead the way to the Wildcats victory. Randy Cameron scored in the second while Brandon Street put the Rocket on the score sheet just past the half way mark of the middle frame. ' Cats captain

Matt Eagles, with his team leading 17th goal got the insurance marker into an empty net with 50 seconds left in the game.

Wednesday December 3rd vs Cape Breton Centre 200 7:00PM GAME NOTES:

The Moncton Wildcats will take on the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Wednesday. The Screaming Eagles are 2nd in the Atlantic Division with 40 points. Chris Culligan leads the Screaming Eagles with 9 goals, 28 assists and 37 points in 26 games so far this season.

Sunday December 7th vs Rimouski Moncton Coliseum 4:00PM GAME NOTES:

The Moncton Wildcats will take on the Rimouski Océanic Sunday. The Océanic are 2nd in the Telus Eastern Division with 38 points. Philippe Cornet leads the Océanic with 9 goals, 20 assists and 29 points in 25 games so far this season.
