
Wildcats Drop Close One To Foreurs

The score after the first period was 4-0 Val d'Or. Maxime Sauve scored on the power play at 6:34, the Archambault made it a two goal lead at 12:18. Scandella scored on a shot from the blue line to make it 2-0, another Foreurs power play goal. Charland rounded out the scoring for Val d'Or at 18:11.
Moncton changed goaltenders after the period, Louis Domingue came in to replace Wendell Vye. It was all Wildcats in the second period, the goal scorers were Scott Brannon with his 10th of the year on the power play at 10:13, then Pierre-Marc Lessard scored 38 seconds later at 10:51. Matt Brown got his third of the season at 19:38 and the Cats went to the dressing room down by one after forty minutes.
In the final twenty minutes, the Wildcats pulled out all the stops but could not get the equalizer.
Final shots on goal were 38 for Moncton and 29 for Val d'Or. On the power play, the Cats went 1 for 6, the Foreurs were 2 for 9.
The three stars were Jacob Gervais-Chouinard the first star, Marco Scandella was name second star with Maxime Sauve getting the third star.
The Wildcats play the final game of their five game road trip tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock local time against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Follow all of the action on News 91.9 or on the Telus website, Les Stoodley will have the play-by-play.
Next home game for the Cats will be Tuesday night at 7 against the Acadie- Bathurst Titan. MacDonald Pontiac is the game sponsor with fans having a chance to shoot for not one but two GM vehicles. The Wildcats are supporting Mobile One kitchen with their annual Pumkin carving contest. The pumpkins carved by players and staff will be up for auction during the game.
