
Wildcats Drop 2nd Straight 1-Goal Game

For the second straight game the Moncton Wildcats outshot the opposition but came up short on the scoreboard as the Baie Comeau Drakkar nipped the hometown Cats 4-3 at Avenir Centre before 3700 fans.
The Wildcats fired 34 shots at veteran Olivier Adam while the Drakkar directed 21 at Moncton's Jacob Steinman.
Baie Comeau scored a pair of early third period goals to take a 4-2 lead.
Defenseman Etienne Morin's 7th of the season cut the lead to 4-3 but the Drakkar held on despite Moncton adding the extra attacker with 2:29 remaining. Other Moncton goals from Yoan Loshing, his 8th, and a powerplay tally from Max Barbashev, his 6th of the season. Charles Beaudoin and Vincent Labelle each added two assists. The game also featured the return of winger Nic Pavan to the Wildcats lineup.

The Wildcats, 8-5-0-1 on the season, play host to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada Sunday at 4 p.m. before visiting the Mooseheads in Halifax Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at ScotiaBank Centre.
