
Wildcats come up short against Drakkar

BAIE COMEAU, PQ â The Wildcats are heading home after a tough road trip. They picked up their fourth loss in a row Tuesday night when the Baie Comeau Drakkar defeated them 5-3 infront of 1450 fans at the Centre Henry Leonard.
The Cats came out strong in the first period with a power play goal by Steve Bernier (29)PP. Baie Comeau answered with a goal from Sebastien Blouin (2). Moncton took a 2-1 lead going into the first intermission with a goal by Charles Bergeron (7). The 2nd period gave Baie Comeau a chance to tie the game up. Benjamein Breault (9) got the only marker in that period to give the teams a 2-2 tie going into the final stanza. The Wildcats scored first in the third with a power play shot by Captain Nathan Saunders (5)PP, but that wasn't enought to give the tired Wildcats the win. Baie Comeau came back strong scoring two power play goals, both by Alexandre Picard-Hooper (18,19), and topped off the night with the insurance goal by Martin Mandeville (18).
Corey Crawford took the loss (23-11-5) stopping 23 of 28 shots. Loic Lacasse (9-18-2) picked up the win with a 21 save performance.
The Cats are back at home on Friday, February 11th when they host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
