South Georgia Wildcats News Release

Albany, GA - Julian Reese, 2006 Wildcats quarterback, will be returning to Albany for another season. In 12 games last year, Reese passed for 2,897 yards and rushed for 341 yards while totaling 58 touchdowns. After a long off-season, Reese headlines the Wildcats recent additions.

"Obviously, bringing Julian back was one of our top priorities during the offseason. I'm glad he's finally signed on the dotted line and I can't wait to see him compete," said General Manager Darren McPhail.

Joining Reese will be af2 veterans Jammal Garman, Cecil Lester, Joe Woolridge, and Courtney Young. Garman is a wide receiver with four years of af2 experience while quarterback Cecil Lester enters his 3rd season in the league. Woolridge and Young hope to anchor the Wildcats line while they enter their 2nd and 4th years in the league respectively.

The five rookies recently added to the Wildcats roster are Tavaris Capers (WR, UCF), Shyrone Carey (WR, LSU), Roland Cola (DB, Houston), David Walker (OL/DL, Iowa), and Lunda Wells (C, Southern).

"It's always important to bring a good mix of veterans and rookies to camp and these additions will continue to improve the competition for playing time," said Head Coach Derek Stingley.

The Wildcats will host an exbibition game against the Alabama Steeldgos Saturday, March 17th and they open the regular season Saturday, March 31st against the Arkansas Twisters at the Albany Civic Center on Cooper Tire Field. For ticket information, call the Wildcats at (229) 435-0205.
