Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON N.B. - The Moncton Wildcats are excited to announce the acquisition of defenceman Kyle Auger. The 5'10, 172 lb blueliner from Thunder Bay, Ontario, has played his last two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. After being drafted in 2015; 39th overall by the Windsor Spitfires he played 28 games with them before being traded to the Ottawa 67's for the 2016-2017 season. To date he has played in 81 OHL regular season games, recording 13 points.
Director of Hockey Operations, Roger Shannon had this to say about the addition on the back end. "At this point we feel as though we needed to add some additional experience to our defensive group. Having played two years in the Ontario Hockey League, we are looking forward to having Kyle join the group and the experience he will bring to some of our younger defencemen."
The Wildcats are back in action tonight against Val d'Or at 7:00 p.m. and again tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. vs. Victoriaville. Kyle is expected to make his debut in the Wildcats lineup this weekend.
