North Richland Hills, TX (December 19th) - In their 50th all-time meeting, Wichita (17-8-2) couldn't climb out of an early hole and fell at the hands of the Fort Worth Brahmas (12-9-4) 5-1 on Wednesday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Kevin Young scored the only Thunder goal and extends his goal-scoring streak to four games. Wichita's win-streak ends at four and is 4-1-0 against the Brahmas this season. The two teams will meet one more time this week to close out a stretch of four out of five against each other.

Derrick Pallis put the Thunder behind for the third-straight game as he got around a defenseman at the left circle and scored to make it 1-0 at 12:54 of the first period. Fort Worth appeared to make it 2-0 a few minutes later, but Tomas Klempa's goal was disallowed for a crease violation and the game remained 1-0 after the first period of play.

In the second period, the Brahmas added to their lead with a pair of goals. At 7:28, Klempa put a shot on net from the slot and Phil Fox followed up the play to make it 2-0. Fort Worth extended their lead to 3-0 on a goal from Nick Schneider from the deep slot at 15:26.

Fort Worth scored a pair of power play goals in the third to take a 5-0 lead. The Thunder were assessed two penalties 27 seconds apart and the Brahmas took advantage. Fox scored his second of the game at 4:30 to make it 4-0 and just 44 seconds later, Adam Hogg put home a rebound to make it 5-0. Young got the Thunder on the board at 5:54 to cut into the lead and make it 5-1. Wichita had a few late power plays, but were unable to get another by Westblom.

Wichita went 0-for-6 on the power play and Fort Worth was 2-for-6.
