
Wichita Wingnuts Set 2013 Promotions

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts announced their 2013 promotional schedule on Wednesday.
The season kicks off Thursday night with a tribute to late Wingnuts' bench coach Brian Rose. Prior to the game, a video celebrating Rose's life will be displayed while his jersey number "3" will become the first retired number in the team's six-year history. Several members of Rose's family will be on hand, including his wife Lupe who will throw out the first pitch. The first 2,000 fans in attendance receive a Wingnuts' magnet schedule, courtesy of Peak Performance and Alta Mere.
The following night (Friday, May 17th), the Wingnuts are hosting a Funniest home Videos contest. Fans may submit their entries via the Wingnuts' official Facebook page. The top three will be played over the videoboard with the grand prize winner voted on by Wingnuts players and staff.
For a second straight year, a WWE superstar visits Lawrence-Dumont Stadium for Wichita's match against the New Jersey Jackals on Saturday, May 25th. Ted DiBiase "The Million Dollar Man" will be on hand, and one lucky fan will win $10,000 if the Wingnuts strike out the side in order in the top of the eighth inning. Following the game, all Boy Scouts in attendance are welcome to camp out on the field.
Multicultural Night, presented by United Healthcare, returns to Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Saturday, June 15th when the Wingnuts play the St. Paul Saints. The night features many events and performances highlighting cultural diversity in Wichita. This year's Wingnuts' roster features players of Canadian, Hawaiian, Kiwi, Korean, Puerto Rican, and Venezuelan descent.
Saturday, June 29th is Salute to America's Heroes and Girl Scouts Night, presented by Kansas One Call and KAKEland. The Wingnuts will pay tribute to those responsible for protecting the country, while the annual Girl Scouts' campout will take place on the field after the game.
Fans can kick back and enjoy their favorite beverage on Saturday, July 6th when the Amarillo Sox are in town. A limited number of Wingnuts' Slap Koozies will be handed out at the gate.
Die-hard sports fans will want to be in attendance on Saturday, July 20th for the Wingnuts' Trading Card giveaway. A limited number of baseball card sets featuring the 2013 Wichita Wingnuts players and coaches will be available when fans enter Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Ducked Dynasty Night is on Saturday, August 24th against the Grand Prairie AirHogs. Following the game, all fans in attendance are encouraged to head onto the field in an attempt to break the world record for the largest game of "Duck-Duck-Goose".
With school back in session, the Wingnuts welcome several children's favorites on Saturday, August 31st against the Kansas City T-Bones. Curious George, Super Why!, and Daniel Tiger will all be on hand, courtesy of KPTS.
The tradition of postgame fireworks will continue in 2013 with nine spectacular shows planned for prime weekend dates. Fans can enjoy fireworks following all seven of the Wingnuts' Friday games, as well as both Saturday games during the month of June.

Another Wingnuts' fan-friendly tradition takes place after every Saturday game with postgame autographs. Immediately following every Saturday contest, fans are invited down on the field to meet and greet their favorite Wingnuts players. A final autograph session featuring the entire team takes place on Fan Appreciation Night, which is Monday, September 2nd against Kansas City.
The Wingnuts have once again partnered with various local businesses to offer Buy-In Nights. Fans can stop by any of the presenting sponsor's locations to pick up a complimentary general admission voucher that can be upgraded to a lower box or upper chairback seat at a discount rate. This year's Buy-In partners include American Family Insurance (Tuesday, June 4th), Midwest Dairy Farmer Association (Tuesday, June 25th), Credit Union of America (Sunday, June 30th), and Delta Dental (Tuesday, July 23rd).
Fans can also stop by any Wichita area Kwik Shop for a $1 general admission voucher for every Monday game. The seven Kwik Shop Dollar Days include May 27th (vs. Amarillo), June 3rd (vs. El Paso), June 17th (vs. Gary SouthShore), June 24th (vs. Laredo), July 8th (vs. Amarillo), June 22nd (vs. Amarillo), and September 2nd (vs. Kansas City). Select concession and gift shop items will also be on sale for just $1 during each Monday.
The 2013 season of Wichita Wingnuts baseball begins Thursday, May 16th against the Kansas City T-Bones at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Prior to the game, a ceremony celebrating the life of bench coach Brian Rose will take place.
Beginning this season, fans can use cash at all points of sale in Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Debit and credit cards will still be accepted. Fans can resolve outstanding balances on cash cards from previous years until June 1st, 2013.
