St. Paul Saints News Release

ST. PAUL, MN (May 15, 2013) - Another St. Paul Saints season begins and there is no better way to spend the opening homestand than with your brothers and sisters. We will honor incredible championship women and man's best friend, but for one night the home of the Saints will turn into "Twinkie Territory."

The first homestand kicks-off on Thursday night, May 16 at 7:05 p.m. with all the pageantry of opening night. The bunting will adorn the ballpark, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will be in attendance and it will be a family affair with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Cities in attendance. This incredible organization provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Also, for those with a magnetic personality this is the perfect day to get your Saints magnet schedules presented by Mississippi Market. They are great to put on the fridge, your desk or cover your entire car. Also, enjoy the first ever Craft Beer Thursday presented by Brew Pub Pizza.

The last remaining Twinkies and CupCakes in existence are at Midway Stadium and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive one during, "This Is Twinkie Territory" at the ballpark on Friday, May 17 at 7:05 p.m. The Saints managed to get their hands on these delectable treats and our fans will reap the benefits. The golden snack cake or chocolate goodness with filling in the middle brings back memories of our childhood. Bring the kids and watch as the Saints do their own Twinkie experiment and decipher between truth and myth when it comes to this guilty pleasure including if it can survive an entire season in our ballpark. While the fireworks are going off in your mouth from these tasty treats, enjoy the fireworks show following the game presented by Xcel Energy.

The women on the Minnesota sports scene are making a lot of noise these days and that's why the Saints will hold a day to "Celebrate Women in Sports" on Saturday, May 18 at 7:05 p.m. The undefeated National Champion Gophers Women's Hockey Team will be in attendance along with other great women's team from Minnesota. Come out and honor these tremendous athletes for everything they've done in sports and away from the game. Fans will have a chance to win up to $77,777 on St. Croix Casino Big Money $aturday.

The final game of the homestand takes place on Sunday, May 19 at 1:05 p.m. with a day dedicated to man's best friend. It's Dog Day at Midway presented by the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. Contests will take place all game long as we look for dogs that resemble their owner or a famous celebrity, a dog treat eating contest and the always entertaining dog trick contest. Following the game kids run the bases and get autographs from the entire team on Savers Family Sunday.
