
Wichita Takes #1 Spot in Sher-Wood Coaches Poll

GLENDALE, AZ (January 31, 2013) - For the first time this season, the Allen Americans (25-8-6) are not the top team in the Sher-Wood Coaches Poll as the Wichita Thunder (26-14-3) have surpassed the season-long top dwellers by three points. The first place votes were divided among three teams with the Thunder claiming five first place nods, the Americans earning four and the Fort Worth Brahmas (24-14-4) earning one.
The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc.
The biggest move in the most recent poll belongs to the Bloomington Blaze (22-17-2) who jumped up two spots from #7 to #5. The Missouri Mavericks (21-14-4) are the other top five club coming in at #4.
Rounding out the top 10 is Denver at #6, Rapid City at #7, Quad City at #8, Arizona at #9 and Tulsa at #10.
