Lohrei Resigns as Head Coach with Sundogs

January 31, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs announced Thursday that head coach David Lohrei has resigned from his current position with the team. It is yet to be announced who their new head coach will be.

This was Lohrei's first season with the Sundogs after being appointed head coach midway through the 2011-2012 season last February. Overall he has led the team to a 22-30-4 record and has won 19 games during the 2012-13 season. His most recent win came on January 26th against the Quad City Mallards in a 3-2 shootout victory.

Lohrei explained his decision saying, "The opportunity to work with Chris, Brad and Ed has been a great one. This is an organization that is committed to winning and providing the people of Prescott Valley with a wonderful form of entertainment. That said, I believe it is best for the organization to hire a coach who is willing to become a part of this community and lead the Sundogs. My personal situation has prevented me from making that full commitment and for this reason I have made the decision to step aside. I wish the Sundogs organization only the best. The room is filled with hard working and talented players. I look forward to following their path to the 2013 CHL playoffs."

The Arizona Sundogs are the Central Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Season tickets, mini-plan, and single-game ticket information is now available by calling (928) 759-6600 or visiting arizonasundogs.com.
