Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings News Release

Harlingen, TX - Due to the threat of Tropical Storm Dolly, the Harlingen WhiteWings and Amarillo Dillas will play a double-header consisting of two seven-inning games tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Harlingen Field. The gates will open at 6:05, at which point fans can start purchasing $2 draft beers and bottled sodas, a promotion that will last while supplies last or until the games end.

"In honor of the first tropical weather threat of the season, we thought everyone should get to have an extra good time by enjoying their favorite beverages during tonight's 14 innings of baseball," General Manager Dave Kost said.

Game two will start approximately 30 minutes after the completion of game one.

The doubleheader tonight means the WhiteWings and Dillas will complete the series tomorrow night at 7:05.

"It's precautionary based on the weather forecast. We want to make sure our fans, staff and players on both teams are safe. The storm is expected to become a Hurricane and move into the valley late tomorrow. If nothing happens, at least we have comfort of mind knowing that we took action to ensure everyone's safety. We may be able to play tomorrow, we may not, we'll just have to wait and see what the weather has in store for us," Kost said.

Fans with tickets to Wednesday's game can exchange them for tickets to any other game during the season at the box office located at Harlingen Field.

The WhiteWings and Dillas will complete the series tomorrow night at 7:05. The WhiteWings will then return to action for a three-game road series in San Angelo on Thursday night at 7:05.
