
WhiteWings Lose Sea-Saw Slugfest to Dillas, 10-8

Amarillo, TX - The Harlingen WhiteWings (20-58) and Amarillo Dillas (46-34) traded blows all night long, but the Dillas scored nine runs from the fourth through seventh innings to win 10-8 tonight at Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa.
The Dillas jumped on Armando Casas (0-2) right away. Keith Brachold drew a one-out walk and score on a two-out RBI-double by Danny Bravo to make it 1-0.
The WhiteWings responded with a big second against Marcos Castillo (9-6). Birthday-boy Trey Hendricks (26 years old) led off with a seven-pitch walk. One out later, former-Dilla Joel Gonzalez hit his fifth home run of the season on the first pitch he saw during his return to Amarillo. Kevin Griffin followed with an infield single. One out later, David Fowler singled, moving Griffin to third. Fowler moved to second on the throw to third. Amadeo Zazueta followed with a two-run single to make it 4-1.
Bravo led off the fourth with a triple and scored on an RBI-single by A.J. Johnson to make it 4-2.
Zazueta led off the fifth with a double and Ryan Fox launched his 16th home run of the season over the left field wall to make it 6-2. It was Fox's third-straight game with a home run and fourth during that span.
The Dillas sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Josh Ashton and Jonathan Reynoso singled. Brachold followed with a two-run triple. Gary Schneidmiller walkd and Bravo followed with an RBI-single. One out later, Andrew Wong and Stephen Douglas hit RBI-singles to knock out Casas as Wong moved to third. Alex Gett came and the runners pulled off a double-steal to make it 8-6 Dillas.
The WhiteWings got one back in the sixth. Gonzalez and Griffin led off with singles and moved up when Matt Lawman reached on a sacrifice bunt error. One out later, Zazueta hit an RBI-ground to make it 8-7.
The Dillas took that run back in the bottom of the inning. Reynoso led off with a single and Brachold followed with an RBI-double to make it 9-7.
David Cardona led off the seventh with his fifth home run of the season to make it 9-8.
The Dillas got that run back in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Doulgas reached on an infield single and moved to second when the throw went into right field. One out later Ashton hit an RBI-single to make it 10-8.
Ralph Roberts pitched a scoreless ninth for his ninth save.
The WhiteWings and Dillas play game two of this three-game series tomorrow night at 7:05. Right-hander Todd Lutz (2-7) will face left-hander Micah Posey (10-2).
