Edinburg Roadrunners News Release

The Edinburg Coyotes are just 10 days away from reaching the playoffs, but the only team that stands in their way is ...the Laredo Broncos.

The Coyotes are two games ahead of the Broncos for the fourth and final playoff spot. The Coyotes will enter a crucial three-game series with them today. Edinburg gained momentum heading into the important series after sweeping the two-time defending champions, Alexandria Aces, last night. Basically, if the Coyotes take at least two games they will have a firmer grip on the playoffs heading into the series in Laredo. Coyotes have won six of their last ten and are currently on a four-game winning streak. Laredo, on the other hand, won four of their last ten and snapped a five-game losing streak last night after defeating the Amarillo Dillas.

"This is a very important series coming up," assistant general manager Omar Ortiz said. "Hopefully we can take at least two out of three games here at home so we can have a cushion heading into their house. But I'm very excited to see what happens and I know both teams will put on a great show for the fans." After the three-game series at home, Coyotes will travel to Laredo to face the Broncos in a three-game series beginning on Tuesday, August 12.
