San Angelo, TX - San Angelo Colts (22-16) starter Brian Henschel (3-2) made it two-straight complete games against the Harlingen WhiteWings (14-24), striking out nine while scattering nine hits and not walking anyone to win 7-1 tonight at Foster Field. The WhiteWings are now eliminated from getting one first half playoff spots and must turn their attention to one of the remaining two spots that will be decided at the end of the full season.

The top two teams at the end of 90 games that have not yet clinched a playoff spot will open the first round on the road against the first half playoff teams.

The WhiteWings got their only run in the first. David Fowler singled, stole second, and scored on a two-out single by Ryan Fox to make it 1-0.

Angel Cordero (1-2) cruised through the first two innings, striking out four and walking one. In the third, however, Wyn Diggs led off with a walk and Charley Belew followed with a single. Two outs later, Bryan Frichter launched a two-run double off the top of the left field wall to make it 2-1 Colts.

The Colts blew it open in the fourth to take a 6-1 lead. Benny Craig led off with a double, and out later, Jose Torres reached on an infield single and stole second. Diggs walked to load the bases. Cordero threw a wild pitch that ricocheted back to Kevin Griffin, who spun and fired it towards Cordero, but it got away, so both Craig and Torres scored while Diggs moved to second. Belew followed with a walk and a wild pitch moved the runners to second and third. A passed ball scored Diggs and sent Belew to third. John Anderson hit a sacrifice fly to knock out Cordero and cap the inning.

The Colts tacked one on against Juan Jimenez in the seventh as Aaron Cone hit an RBI-single with the bases loaded to send Frichter home, making it 7-1.

The WhiteWings and Colts play game three of this three-game series tomorrow at 5:05 p.m. Right-hander Kenny Evoniuk (0-3) will face left-hander Logan Williamson (4-2).
