WhiteWings Add Two to Roster

HARLINGEN - The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of the North American League announced on Thursday the acquisition of infielder Wilmer Pino (5-11, 165) via trade with Maui and the signing of free agent Andrew Dowl (6-4, 215).

Pino started the season with the Edinburg Roadrunners hitting .286 in two games played. Pino has also played for the Roadrunners the past two seasons after spending three years in the New York Yankees organization. Pino comes to the Wings from Maui for a player to be named later.

The Wings also announced the signing of pitcher Andrew Dowl. Dowl is a tall right handed pitcher from Moorpark, Calif.

The Wings also released RHP Ramon Sanchez and suspended LHP Jason Moody.

The WhiteWings welcome the Edinburg Roadrunners to Harlingen Field for the first game of a four-game series on Thirsty Thursday at 7:05 p.m. Fans can purchase draft beers and cans of soda for $1 as well as bottles of beer and water for $2 each. Right-hander Alexander Concepcion (1-0, 0.00) is expected to face right-hander Jorge Quintero (0-1, 30.90). Gates open at 6:05.
