
WhiteWings Add Infielder

Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings News Release
Harlingen - United League Baseball's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced today that they have signed second baseman Jose Sanchez (6-2, 220, Delaware State).
The WhiteWings have also released utility-player Zach Staniewicz (6-3, 235, Concordia College).
A 22-year old rookie from San Cristobal, Venezuela, Sanchez opened the season with the Evansville Otters in the Frontier League. In his season at Delaware State last year, Sanchez hit .291 with eight doubles and 28 RBI while stealing five bases in six attempts in 45 games. As a junior in 2008, Sanchez hit .347 with six home runs and 30 RBI while stealing six bases in seven attempts in 49 games. Sanchez also played at Alfred State Junior College.
Staniewicz was 0-for-5 in three games.
