
Whitecaps FC Commit to Friendly in the Fraser Valley in the New Year

VANCOUVER, BC Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Tuesday that the club will host a friendly in the Fraser Valley in the new year with all net proceeds going towards those impacted by the recent flooding in the region. Additional the details will be confirmed in the new year. Also, as part of Giving Tuesday, the club made cash donations to Red Cross and United Way BC.
The club also confirmed initial 2022 preseason plans with camps in Vancouver, BC and San Diego, California ahead of the club's 12th season in Major League Soccer.
Players will start training in Vancouver at the Whitecaps FC National Soccer Development Centre on January 17. The team will depart for San Diego on February 5 for a 10-day camp in Southern California, which will include a series of preseason matches. Preseason games will be announced in the new year.
The team will then return to Vancouver on February 16 to resume training in preparation for their 2022 MLS regular season opener against Columbus Crew on Saturday, February 26 at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.
The following week, Vancouver Whitecaps FC will host New York City FC on Saturday, March 5 in their 2022 MLS home opener at BC Place. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. PT. The remainder of the 2022 MLS regular season will be announced in the coming weeks.
