White, Simon Plate Three Each in 9-7 Win

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones (19-12) defeated the Lake County Fielders (10-18), 9-7, in the first game of a three-game series Monday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
In front of 3,194 fans, Amos Ramon started the game with a solo home run off T-Bones starter Brett Davis, giving the Fielders and early 1-0 advantage. Kansas City answered in the second, scoring two runs off starter Jake Ruckle on a double by Keanon Simon and taking a 2-1 lead.
The Fielders regained the lead, 3-2, when Brian McFall hit a two-run home run in the third, but again, the T-Bones came back, scoring five runs in the bottom half of the inning. White plated the first two runs with an RBI double and Jimmy Mojica drove in the third with a safety squeeze. An RBI triple by Simon and RBI single by Jacob Blackwood then added two more, giving the T-Bones a 7-3 lead. Ruckle left with one out in the inning, allowing three runs on three hits while walking five.
Lake County tied the game in the fourth, using three singles and a sacrifice fly, chasing Davis in the process. Davis left in favor of Kyle Heim (1-0) with two outs in the inning, allowing seven runs, four earned, over three and two-thirds innings.
The score remained the same until White led off the seventh inning with a solo home run off Marco Gonzalez (0-1) to give the T-Bones an 8-7 lead. Blackwood also tripled home a run in the inning, capping the scoring at 9-7. Heim, who earned his first victory as a
T-Bone, pitched three and one-thirds scoreless innings before giving way to Steven Stewart, who pitched a scoreless eighth.
Franklin Perez pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first save in a T-Bones uniform.
White finished the game a triple short of the cycle, going three-for-five with three RBI and three runs scored. Simon was two-for-four with two runs and three RBI.
Kansas City hosts Lake County for game two Tuesday night as they send left-hander Ryan Knippschild (5-1, 3.19 ERA) to the hill opposite Fielders right-hander Ryan Bicondoa (0-2, 4.09 ERA). Catch all the action through streaming webcast at www.tbonesbaseball.com or on the radio at KXTR 1660 AM.
PRIME CUTS: Prior to the game, Kansas City sent right-hander Kyle Dahman to the Joliet JackHammers for a player to be named. Veteran hurler Dewon Brazelton was also placed on the inactive list.
