TRENTON, N.J. - The Wheeling Nailers, who arrived at the Sun National Bank Center late because of issues with their bus, got their offense rolling in high gear early Saturday night.

The Nailers (6-1-0-12) scored 52 seconds into the game, which began at 8:30 p.m., as Patrick Johnson put a rebound past Titans goalie Brad Phillips, who made back-to-back starts for the first time this season.

Just 70 seconds later, the ECAC Atlantic Division leaders struck again on a wrist shot that just got under the crossbar to put the Titans (2-7-0-4) in a 2-0 hole.

Then, at the 14:44 mark of the second period, Paul Crowder put Wheeling ahead 3-0.

"It just kept turning against us,'' said Titans winger Peter Lenes, who played a gritty game. "We can't let that happen.''

Wheeling's Olivier Dane-Malka and Denver Manderson scored 1:07 apart in the third period - giving the Nailers a 5-0 cushion - before the Titans' Denny Kearney scored his third goal of the season, assisted by Jordan Southorn, with 1:00 remaining.

The Titans will look to rebound against rival Reading at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Flyers alum Bob Kelly will appear, the Homework Lounge will be available, as will $1 hot dogs.
