Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, MB. - The wait is almost over western Manitoba.

The Brandon Wheat Kings are returning to Westoba Place and the club has announced that tickets to next week's Western Hockey League playoff games against the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes will go on sale at 12 noon Wednesday.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets by stopping by the Keystone Centre box office, by calling (204) 726-3555 or by ordering online at www.keystonecentre.com

The Wheat Kings, who defeated Medicine Hat in the opening round of post-season play, are returning to Brandon after playing all three home games against the Tigers at Credit Union Place in Dauphin as the Keystone Centre hosted the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.

Brandon will travel to Lethbridge for games one and two of the best of seven series this weekend, before the series shifts to Westoba Place for games three and four on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10th and 11th at 7pm.

Tuesday's game will be the first WHL playoff game in Brandon since the Wheat Kings defeated Seattle in overtime to take game two of the 2016 Championship Final.

This series also marks the first time in a decade that the two teams have squared off in post season play.

In 2008, Lethbridge defeated Daryl Boyle's Brandon Wheat Kings four games to two in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

The last time Brandon played the Hurricanes in the Conference Semi-Finals was 1994 when Marty Murray, Darren Ritchie and the Wheat Kings defeated Lethbridge four games to one.

In other news, Season Ticket holders' playoff ticket packages will be available for pick up Friday afternoon at 1pm or 9am Monday, April 9th at the Wheat Kings' office.

The Wheat Kings' playoff series against Lethbridge are a presentation of Precision Toyota, Brandon Source for Sports, Montanas's Barbcue & Bar and Tommy Gun's.K/DrnzZD
