
Wheat Kings advance to Eastern Conference Semi-Finals

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan -- For the third time in the past four years the Brandon Wheat Kings have advanced to the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
The Wheat Kings, who are coming off their second Eastern Division regular season pennant in the past three years and their fourth in six seasons, advanced to round two Saturday night in Prince Albert with a 4-2 victory over the hometown Raiders.
Robert Klinkhammer scored 2 goals to le ad the Wheat Kings, who won the best of seven opening round playoff series four games to one.
With the win, Brandon eliminated the Raiders from post-season play for the third time since 2004. Two years ago, the Wheat Kings defeated Prince Albert in the Eastern Conference Championship Final and in 2004, Brandon upset the Raiders in their best of seven opening round series.
Although the Wheat Kings will move on, the hockey club still doesn't know who they will be playing or where they will be playing when the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals begin next weekend. However, the WHL club has announced that tickets for the first two home games of round two will go on sale at 9 a.m., April 3rd at the Keystone Centre box office.
