San Jose, CA - The San Jose Giants unveiled today a number of improvements and new promotions designed to enhance the storied tradition of fan entertainment in San Jose. Since 1942, the San Jose Giants have offered a unique fan experience for both families and baseball fanatics to come and enjoy great food, exciting promotions and of course watch the San Francisco Giants homegrown prospects since 1988.

The San Jose Giants and Comcast have once again partnered to bring fans LIVE television broadcasts during the 2016 season. This year the organization is increasing their schedule to 31 games, most ever in the organization's partnership. The games can be viewed live on Comcast Hometown Network on Digital Channel 104 SD / 819 HD throughout most Northern California regions. The broadcast schedule begins with the home opener, Thursday, April 7, against the Lancaster JetHawks at 7:00 PM.

This season, alongside the California League, the San Jose Giants will celebrate the inaugural California League Hall of Fame Class in honor of the league's 75th anniversary. On Saturday, June 18 George Brett Night will come to Municipal Stadium with festivities surrounding the San Jose franchise's only Hall of Fame member, San Jose Bee George Brett. Brett will be honored on field in a pregame ceremony as well as a one-of-a-kind San Jose Bee George Brett bobblehead giveaway.

In addition, the organization will be holding a record thirteen specialty jersey auctions in 2016 where fans will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to take these jerseys right off the respective San Jose Giants back following the game. Fan-favorite jerseys like Hawaiian, Italian and Star Wars will be returning to the field as well as the addition of Nickelodeon, Latin Heritage and Christmas in July.

"This offseason's main focus was to discover new, unique ways to make Municipal Stadium a destination for every type of baseball fan," said Daniel Orum, San Jose Giants President and CEO. "Fans are used to coming to Municipal Stadium to see the homegrown prospects of the San Francisco Giants, but it is also our job to make the fan experience one that offers fun, affordable, family entertainment like no other place in San Jose. We are incredibly excited about the upgrades and new promotions coming to our ballpark in 2016."

Fans will also see a number of stadium improvements immediately when walking through the Municipal Stadium gates. New features in our Family Fun Zone include an inflatable obstacle course where kids and kids at heart can race for bragging rights. The organization has also opened Gigante's Alley to extend into the Family Fun Zone with additional food options as well as shaded dining areas close to the inflatables offering a great view for parents to enjoy watching their children play while grabbing a bite to eat.

New food options to Gigante's alley include the Hard Fresco's Noodle Stand where chicken and veggie noodle bowls will be served alongside Hard Fresco's Mexican Hard Soda. Furthermore, the Santa Clara Valley Brewing Company Stand will continue to serve great Santa Clara Valley beer on tap while now offering a new tasty grilled cheese for the fans.

Heading further down the left field line, a freshly painted interior concourse will lead fans directly to the renovated Martinelli's VIP Deck. New bar tops as well as an increase of featured beers on tap available at the expanded VIP Deck Bar Two will give fans all they desire in one location for their group packages.

During the offseason the organization also reinvested in aspects of the field and clubhouses. San Jose Giants players and visiting players will benefit from an updated clubhouse while Giants pitchers will enjoy new lights in the home bullpen.

The San Jose Giants 2016 season begins on Thursday, April 7 at Municipal Stadium against the Lancaster JetHawks. The opening night festivities include a Magnet Schedule giveaway presented by Alliance Credit Union and Pepsi as well as a spectacular postgame fireworks show.
