CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors are set to drop the puck on their first American Hockey League (AHL) season this weekend and that highlights "What's going down in Condorstown?" volume 1. Each Tuesday, you will know just about everything happening in Condorstown from games, media appearances, fun facts, and more, all in one e-mail. So, here we go...
1) AHL Condors Opening Weekend is Friday and Saturday
Friday night, the first 5,000 fans, 5 and older, will receive sunglasses courtesy of Eyewitness News, 101.5 KGFM, and Dignity Health. Our future is so bright, you gotta wear shades.
Saturday night, the first 2,000 fans, 17 and under, can choose from nine different team deflated footballs including the 49ers, Raiders, Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, Broncos, Seahawks, Chargers, and the masters of deflation, the Patriots. Presented by Eyewitness News and Dignity Health
Quarterbacks from local high schools will participate in a football toss during the first intermission on Saturday. If you or your student attends a local high school and you want information on receiving a student discount to the game, call 324-PUCK (7825).
The Condors host the Grand Rapids Griffins (NHL: Detroit Red Wings) on Friday and the Ontario Reign (NHL: Los Angeles Kings) on Saturday.
Due to the LA Dodgers being in the postseason this weekend, Condors action will air on 98.5 The Fox and will still be available through the iHeartRadio App.
2) Weekly radio show - new day, same time // Weekly web-video show debuts next Tuesday
Condors Insider returns with a new day, tomorrow, Wednesday, from 4-5 p.m. on the home of the Condors, Fox Sports Radio 970 and the iHeartRadio App.
Hosted by Condors broadcasters Ryan Holt and Kevin Bartl. Guests include assistant coach J-F Houle and Condors veteran Ryan Hamilton. Listen online at www.foxsports970am.com.
Condors UNLEASHED, a live, one-hour, weekly web-streamed video show will debut with season 3 one week from today, Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 2-3 p.m. (note the new time). Show will feature highlights, guest interviews, video breakdown, and more.
3) Catch the Condors on TV leading up to Opening Night
Thursday from 7-9 a.m., Eyewitness News (Ch. 58) morning reporter Kalyna Astrinos will be live at Rabobank Arena with Condors RW Matt Ford.
On Friday, 23 ABC reporter Lesley Marin will be live at Rabobank Arena from 4:30 a.m. - 7 a.m. with Condors broadcaster Ryan Holt.
4) What's for dinner, who's in the autograph booth and other potpourri
FRIDAY:
Club room: Prime Rib, Loaded Baked Potatoes, Bacon and Onion Green Beans, Baby Greens Salad, Chocolate Decadent Cake
Tap room: BBQ Beef Sliders, Chippers, Dinner Salad
SATURDAY:
Club room: Chili Verde, Rice and Beans, Ensalada Fresca, Chipotle Sour Cream, Buenelos

Fans are asked to arrive early on Friday night especially for a pre-game, full team introduction which may or may not have required fire permits.
Open practice at Rabobank Arena will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 10/7, at 10 a.m. Fans can come to the Condors front office and will be escorted inside to watch practice.
