
Boston Loans Goalie Jeremy Smith to Iowa

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr on Tuesday announced the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins have loaned goaltender Jeremy Smith to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Smith, 26 (4/13/89), is a seventh-year pro who spent the entire 2014-15 season in Providence - the AHL affiliate of Boston. In 39 games with Providence, he posted a 22-11-5 record with a 2.05 GAA and a .933 SV%. He added three shutouts and placed fourth overall in the AHL for goals against average and third best for save percentage. For his AHL career, Smith is 109-71-15 in 204 regular season games, recording a career 2.41 goals against average and .916 save percentage.
Smith played four seasons in the Predators organization from 2009-13 before signing with Columbus as a free agent on July 5, 2013. He played one season in the Blue Jackets organization with their AHL affiliate in Springfield prior to going to the Bruins.
The 6-0, 173-pound native of Detroit, Michigan played three full seasons of junior hockey with Plymouth and Niagara of the Ontario Hockey League, winning an OHL championship with Plymouth in 2007. Nashville's second pick, 54th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft turned pro in 2009-10, spending most of that season with the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones, where he won a Kelly Cup championship while being named co-MVP of that postseason.
Smith appeared in three preseason games for Boston this year, yielding a 1-0-1 record with a 2.02 goals against average and .922 save percentage.
Iowa hosts Opening Night on Saturday, October 10th when the Charlotte Checkers come to town. The puck drops at 7 p.m. The Wild hosts a pregame tailgate party outside of Wells Fargo Arena from 4-6:30 p.m., celebrating the team's third season in Des Moines. The first 5,000 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild Cling Schedule, presented by Hicklin Garage, KXNO 1460, and The Bus 100.3. The Wild also hosts Charlotte again on Sunday at 5 p.m. Sunday's game is Kid's Opening Night and the first 2,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild poster schedule.
Fans may purchase single-game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website - www.Iowawild.com , the Wells Fargo Arena box office or participating Hy-Vee food stores. Tickets are available online at www.Iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team's 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena.
