Westerra Credit Union Named Presenting Sponsor for Colorado Rapids 2011 Season

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, March 14, 2011) - The MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids are pleased to announce today that Westerra Credit Union has been named the "presenting sponsor" for the Rapids 2011 season.

This unique partnership marks the first of its kind in club history, and features a new "composite" logo that incorporates both the Rapids and Westerra Credit Union brands. This unique mark will appear in all marketing and promotional campaigns the Rapids execute during the 2011 season.

"Bringing on a season presenting sponsor is a special relationship that needs the right partner," said Rapids Managing Director Jeff Plush. "Westerra Credit Union embodies everything the Rapids stand for as a championship organization making this a natural fit for both sides."

We believe more can be accomplished by working together-and this partnership provides many opportunities for us to make a difference through community and educational initiatives." Based in Denver, Westerra Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in the 5-county Denver metro area. Westerra holds the top 5-Star rating for financial institutions.

The relationship represents a highly comprehensive partnership between the Rapids and Westerra Credit Union and includes a number of elements, including increased community involvement focusing on the Rapids Youth Academy, Colorado youth soccer initiatives and education; the presentation of the very successful Rapids and Commerce City "4th Fest" celebration at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, exclusive new benefits and opportunities for Westerra members to win tickets to matches and receive special offers; new Rapids and Westerra Credit Union composite logo on all television and print ads; presenting the 2011 magnetic schedule give away at the April 3rd home match vs. D.C. United; and in-stadium recognition. The sponsorship will also extend to the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Rapids. Financial terms of this deal were not disclosed per club policy.

The relationship will be announced live at the Rapids 2011 Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday, March 16 at the Denver Marriott City Center, where Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber will serve as the keynote speaker.
