Westchester Knicks End Four Game Skid

December 23, 2014 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS, December 23, 2014 - The Westchester Knicks (6-9) ended a four game losing streak at home tonight, besting the Erie BayHawks (6-8), the NBA Development League affiliate of the Orlando Magic 108-102.

The first half was all Westchester, holding Erie to just 48 points in the half. Ben Strong had a namesake showing, going a perfect 5-5 for 11 points in just over 15 minutes of play.

With under two minutes to go in the third, Erie took advantage of the only slow quarter for the Knicks and took their first lead since the first quarter. It wouldn't last long though, with the action heating up in the fourth quarter with both teams vying for the lead. Markeith Cummings, clearly not happy with the score, took matters into his own hands consecutively sinking a lay-up, a three, a jump shot, a driving lay-up, and a made foul shot.

Westchester held on to ultimately take the game from Erie. The Knicks had 15 fast break points on the night along with 50 points in the paint.

Seven Westchester Knicks saw a double digit game: Langston Galloway with 21, Markeith Cummings with 19, Ben Strong and Darnell Jackson with 13, Andre Barrett with 12, Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Orlando Sanchez with 11. Langston Galloway also added 12 rebounds for the double double.

BayHawks guard Seth Curry led scoring for both teams with an impressive 31 points, also adding six assists and four rebounds. Forward Kadeem Batts finished with the other double double of the night with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Jarvis Williams, starting for the injured Peyton Siva, had several key plays and ended the night with 11 points and five rebounds.

Westchester travels to Grand Rapids on Saturday, Dec. 27 to face the Grand Rapids Drive, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for the Westchester Knicks are on sale now at Ticketmaster outlets and the Westchester County Center Box Office and start at $10.
