WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are pleased to announce the selection of two Wild prospects to represent the United States as members of USA Hockey's Youth Olympic team in Gangwon, South Korea. Forward Cole Bumgarner and defenseman Logan Lutner were named as part of the 17-player roster for the Youth Olympic Winter Games earlier this week. Both were selected by the organization this past offseason in the WHL's U.S. Priority Draft, with Bumgarner going 22nd overall and Lutner selected 44th.

"The Wild want to congratulate both Cole and Logan on their accomplishment, and wish them and Team USA the best of luck at the Youth Olympic Games," said Wenatchee director of scouting Leigh Mendelson.

Both players currently play for high school programs in Minnesota, with Bumgarner posting a goal in each of his first six games of the season to go along with five assists for Rogers High School. Lutner has four goals and three assists through the first six games for Maple Grove High School.

The United States has participated in three Youth Olympic Winter Games, finishing fourth in the 2012 tournament before taking gold in 2016 and claiming silver in 2020. The Youth Olympic Winter Games are slated to begin January 19, with preliminary games against Slovakia and Czechia slated for January 27 and 29. Medal-round games in the six-team tournament will take place January 30 and 31.
