Wenatchee Wild News Release

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Wenatchee Wild would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

A goal by Gadel Gumerov put Wenatchee up 2-0 in the third period, but Fairbanks pulled to within one on Tayler Munson's tally 15:25 into the third period.

The Ice Dogs were stymied by the Wild netminder Gustaf Johansson, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. The solid play of Johansson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.5.

Wenatchee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Trey Bradley also scored for Wenatchee. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Troy Loggins and River Rymsha, who each chipped in one.

Fairbanks stifled the Wild's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Ice Dogs' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 12 shots on net during the game.

Other players who recorded assists for Fairbanks were Colton Wolter and Ben Campbell, who contributed one a piece.

Wenatchee totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Fairbanks' Kevin Aldridge stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Ice Dogs ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
