
Welcome Dinner November 13 To Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine will host a Welcome to Maine Dinner for the team on Friday, November 13 at the Portland Expo. The announcement was made today by Maine Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine.
The November 13 dinner, which is chaired by Maine Director of Tourism Pat Eltman, will be held from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM and will be the first opportunity for fans to meet the inaugural Maine Red Claws team. All 17 players invited to training camp, as well as Red Claws coaches and staff, will be in attendance at the event. The Red Claws players will report to Portland on November 13, and training camp will officially open on November 14. The team's first home game is December 4.
"We were thrilled when the Boys & Girls Club approached us about hosting this Welcome to Maine dinner," said Jennings. "This will the first opportunity for Red Claws fans to meet the players and will be first exposure for the players to the hospitality of Mainers. We are looking forward to what we hope will become an annual event."
Fans will have the opportunity to talk to the players, take photos and shoot around with them on the team's brand new parquet floor prior to sitting down to dinner. Crusher and the Lady Red Claws dance team will also attend the event, greeting guests at the door and face-painting for the kids in attendance. The players and guests will then be treated to a Maine lobster dinner before the players and coaches are publicly introduced for the first time. The players will be escorted to the podium by members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine.
Tickets to the event are $25 for adults and $10 for children, with all proceeds benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine. Tickets are limited and may be reserved by contacting the Boys & Girls Club at 207-874-1069 or cgregorie@bgcmaine.org.
