CHIVAS USA TO FACE NEW YORK RED BULLS ON SUNDAY: After a tough 1-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake in Rio Tinto Stadium last Saturday, Chivas USA's challenging month continues with a match against the Eastern Conference leading New York Red Bulls. The Red-and-White will travel to New York to play in the year-old Red Bull Arena, with kickoff scheduled for 4p.m. PT (Galavision, Primer Ticket, and W Radio, delayed at 5 p.m. on Prime Ticket) on Sunday. RED-AND-WHITE'S FIVE GAME UNBEATEN STREAK ENDS IN UTAH: Chivas USA suffered their first loss in over a month, dropping a 1-0 decision to Real Salt Lake. The Rojiblancos lost two men in the first half, with Andrew Boyens sent off for two yellow cards, and Marcos Mondaini joining him after a foul on Javier Morales. The nine-man Chivas USA side performed admirably in the second half, holding off attack after attack from RSL. The home side finally made a breakthrough in the 87th minute, when Will Johnson tapped in from close range, securing all three points. SUPERCLÃÂSICO AGAINST LOS ANGELES GALAXY DRAWS NEARER: The first edition of this year's SuperClásico will be hosted by the Red-and-White on Saturday, May 21st, at 7:00 pm. PT. CHIVAS USA RESERVES TO FACE SEATTLE SOUNDERS FC RESERVES TONIGHT: The Red-and-White reserve squad is in Seattle for a match against the Seattle Sounders FC reserve squad tonight at 7:00p.m. PT. The official MLS reserve match is being held at Seattle's Starfire Sports complex in Tukwila, Washington. After a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy last week, Chivas USA is 1-1-1 (W-L-T) this season in the reserve league. The Sounders have only played one reserve match so far, beating the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 on April 3rd.
'CHIVAS AT THE PARK' CONTINUES THIS SATURDAY, MAY 14 AT MAR VISTA: Chivas USA has kicked off the popular 'Chivas at the Park' program, and will continue the series of soccer clinics taking place in various parks throughout Los Angeles with a session on Saturday, May 14 at the Mar Vista Recreation Center at 11430 Woodbine Ave, Los Angeles, 90066. The clinics, which offer participating boys and girls ages 5-15 the opportunity to learn soccer techniques and practice drills that highlight teamwork in an environment that promotes the importance of fitness for the entire family, cost just $5 and include 90 minutes of soccer instruction, a Chivas at the Park t-shirt, and a certificate of completion. YOUTH TEAM TRYOUTS COMING UP IN BELL GARDENS AND SIMI VALLEY: Chivas USA will be holding 'Sangre Nueva' Youth Team tryouts coming up this summer at a pair of locations in Southern California. First is a tryout in Bell Gardens on June 3, followed by another tryout in Simi Valley on July 23. Chivas USA coaching staff members will be in attendance at each of these events to assess and evaluate the entire player pool with the goal of finding players for the Chivas USA Youth Teams.
