November 6, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release
PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League and leaders of the league's North Division, have a busy slate of promotions scheduled for this weekend's series against the Soo Eagles at McMorran Arena. The teams will match up Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Friday night the team will hold a contest for the most creative Fighting Falcons poster. Fans are encouraged to bring in a poster in support of their favorite player, or make one during the game using the supplies provided by the team. A Fighting Falcons t-shirt and an autographed mini-stick will be awarded to the fans with the two best posters.
The Fighting Falcons player who is best represented in the posters will also be awarded a small prize.
During the first intermission of Friday's game, team photographer David Dell of Delta Imaging will take photos of clean-shaven fans who wish to take part in the team's Movember campaign to raise funds and awareness of men's health issues. Fans taking part in this contest are asked to send in a photo of their mustache's progress once a week throughout the month of November. The contestant who is voted to have the best mustache will win a VIP suite for the Fighting Falcons home game of their choice.
Fans are also encouraged to join the Fighting Falcons page on us.movember.com, where they will update their players' progress throughout the month as well.
Saturday night the team will hold a contest to see which fan has the most creative Fighting Falcons gear. Fans can come to the game sporting team gear from past seasons, items purchased from the McMorran Arena Pro Shop, or any homemade gear they've made to support the team. The fan with the best gear will go home with a replica of the team's new jerseys.
During the game's first intermission "Turkey Score-O" will take place, as fans attempt to slide a frozen turkey across the ice and into the net. The contestant to "score" from the furthest distance will win a VIP suite for a future Fighting Falcons home game.
Fans interested in taking part in "Turkey Score-O" can reserve their spot in the game by contacting the front office at (810) 357-7220.
An autograph session will take place on the ice immediately following the conclusion of Saturday night's game.
All season ticket holders will be entered into a drawing each night for a VIP suite for a Fighting Falcons home game as well.
Tickets to this weekend's games against the Soo Eagles are available at the McMorran Arena Box Office starting at just $7 for seniors, students and military. For more information, contact the Fighting Falcons office at (810) 966-3800.
