Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings (19-22-9) hit the road again this weekend to take on the Minnesota Magicians (19-25-6) in Richfield, MN this Friday and Saturday. The two teams last met last weekend at the Odde where the Wings got the better of the magicians picking up a weekend sweep that moved them up two positions in the standings and the 4th and final playoff spot. Head to head the Wings have that advantage as well leading the season series 4-2-0. Aberdeen will look to continue to place distance between them, the Magicians, and the Brookings Blizzard. With only 10 games remaining every point is crucial down the stretch.
It has been NAHL Central Division Star of the Week Tyler Bossert who has had the Magicians number so far this year with 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 games played. Tucker DeYoung, Colin Raver and Tanner Okeson follow Bossert with 5 points each in the 6 games played. Aberdeen could go either way in goal. Both Thome and Paczosa shared time in the net, both getting wins last weekend and both getting time this past Tuesday in the Wings loss to Minot.
The Central remains the only division with no clinched playoff spots, just going to show you how tight of a division it has been all year. All that could change this weekend however If Minot were to sweep Brookings and Aberdeen Sweeps the Magicians both Minot and Bismarck would clinch spots. In 3rd place just 5 points ahead of Aberdeen sits Austin.
Friday nights puck drop is at 7:15pm CST and can be heard on 94.1 the ROCK, streamed at hubcityradio.com and watched at fasthockey.com! Saturday will be a 7:00pm CST puck drop and can be heard and seen at all the same places!
