
Weekend Preview: Havoc Returns to Pensacola for Friday Night Tilt

HUNTSVILLE - This weekend, the Huntsville Havoc will head back down to the Gulf Coast for another game against the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
The past Friday, the Havoc (2-1-0) traveled to Pensacola and faced off against the Ice Flyers (1-3-0). The Havoc returned home with a 2-1 victory following a heavily defensive game.
Week Recap
The Havoc escaped the Pensacola Bay Center victorious after outscoring the Ice Flyers 2-1 on Friday, Oct. 26.
The game started off hot with a quick goal 48 seconds into the first period from Zach Nieminen, assisted by Rob Darrar. Later in the period, Pensacola answered and tied up the scoreboard 1-1 on a power play goal. The score was the first on a power play allowed by the Havoc this season.
The second period did not see any scoring, but the Havoc broke the tie in the third frame. Darrar picked up his second point of the game when he found the back of the net on a power play.
Goalie Mike DeLaVerge had a strong game saving 40 out of the 41 shots on goal.
The Havoc was 1-6 on power plays and held the Ice Flyers to 1-3 on their one-man advantage. Rob Darrar leads the team in points (4) and is tied with Zach Nieminen for goals (3).
Vs. Pensacola
The Havoc will travel back to the Florida panhandle on Friday, Nov. 2 to play their second game in a four-game series against the Ice Flyers. The Ice Flyers will be ready for a rematch on their home ice. Huntsville looks to secure another win against the Flyers before their home opener in the Von Braun Center against Pensacola on Nov. 9.

Opening Night
The Havoc will honor the President's Cup winners by raising the championship banner at the first home game of the 2018-19 season on Friday, Nov. 9, when they take on the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
