Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack have a busy week six coming up, as for the first time this season, they will be playing 3 games in 3 days. Looking to build off their 5-2 victory over Guelph last Saturday, the Bears will head down to Mississauga on Friday to get the weekend started against Steelheads.

The two teams will meet at 7:00pm at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, for their first of two matchups this season. The Steelheads, lead by overager Cole Carter, 2017 NHL 1st Round Pick Owen Tippett, and 2018 NHL 2nd Round Pick Ryan McLeod, are off to a hot start. Mississauga's record of 8-3-1-0 has them sitting in 1st place in the Central Division with 17 points.

Cole Carter, the Steelheads' captain, leads the team in scoring with 11 goals and 5 assists in 12 games, and McLeod is right behind him 13 points in 10 games. Tippett, despite only playing in 6 games thus far, has 5 goals and 4 assists.

Following Friday night's game, the Attack will head back to the Harry Lumley Bayshore, to take on the Peterborough Petes Saturday night for a 7:30pm puck drop.

The Petes came out of the gates incredibly hot, going 8-2-0-0 through their first 10 games, but have since slowed down, losing their last 3 straight; for an overall record of 8-5-0-0. Peterborough currently sits 2nd in the East Division, but heads home to play Sudbury Thursday evening before travelling to Owen Sound Saturday.

Overage captain Christopher Paquette leads the team in scoring with 7 goals and 5 assists through 13 games. Goaltender Hunter Jones has played phenomenal, putting up a .930 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average, playing in all 13 of Peterborough's games. Jones was also recently named to the 2018 CIBC Canada Russia Series roster, and will play in Game 4 of the series in Oshawa.

Alongside Jones for Game 4 of the series will be Petes' star defenseman, Declan Chisholm, who after putting up 20 points and getting drafted in the 5th Round to the Winnipeg Jets last year, has picked up 10 points through 13 games this year.

To finish up the 3-in-3 for the Attack, they will take on the Windsor Spitfires at the Harry Lumley Bayshore at 2:00pm on Sunday. This will mark the first IPC Core Partners Group Sunday of the season, meaning fans will be able to skate with team and receive autographs following the game.

Fans are to keep in mind that everyone wishing to enter the ice surface must be wearing skates, and anyone under the age of 16 must be wearing a CSA approved helmet.

Windsor currently sits 3rd in the West, with a 5-6-0-1 record for a total of 11 points. Windsor is at home to take on Sault St. Marie this Thursday before they come take on Owen Sound. This will be the first matchup of the season between the Spitfires and the Attack, however over the last 5 years, the Attack have really taken it to the Spitfires, posting a record of 13-3-0-0.

Windsor's 1st Round Pick from 2018, rookie center Jean-Luc Foudy, currently leads the team in points with 1 goal and 9 assists through the team's first 12 games of the campaign. Assistant captain Cole Purboo is the next in line behind Foudy, with 5 goals and 3 assists in the same span of games.

Coming into Week 6, Attack assistant captain Kevin Hancock leads the way in points, with an impressive 17 points in 12 contests; including 5 goals and 4 assists in the team's 3 games this past week, including his 200th OHL career goal. Captain Nick Suzuki has closed the gap though, after returning from Montreal Canadiens camp and putting up 16 points in just 10 games, with 8 in the last 3. Both players were named co-Huron Tractor Supply Players of the Week, and will look to continue their torrid pace this week.
