Brampton Steelheads News Release

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads will take on the London Knights on Thursday night in their 8th annual Pink at the Rink game, before heading on the road to face the Ottawa 67's and Kingston Frontenacs.

The Steelheads will wear special Pink at the Rink themed jerseys, which will be autographed and available in an online auction following the game, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. Fans are encouraged to wear pink clothing in support of breast cancer awareness and research.

Last season, the hockey club was able to raise $8,763.32 for the Canadian Cancer Society with help from forward Nic Canade. This year, Canade has once again agreed to donate .25 cents for every 10,000 likes he receives on his recent Instagram post, which can be found here.

"With this year's Pink At The Rink game, in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, coming up this Thursday, I want to build off of last year's incredible outcome and once again personally donate .25 cents for every like this post receives for the first 10,000 likes. The amazing women within these photos represent some of the people I fight for. With your support, please help me raise awareness for this very important cause and together we can fight for everyone. I will keep you updated on the likes and progress of the photo."

Thursday night will also mark the organizations second "Winning Nights" game of the year, where if the Steelheads walk away with a victory, your ticket can be redeemed for a free ticket to the Steelheads game on December 13th.

The Fish are coming off one of their best weekends of the year, defeating one of the top teams in the league, the Sarnia Sting. The team travelled to Erie, where they walked away with a point in an overtime loss, then headed back to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre on Sunday for a rematch against the Otters, where Keean Washkurak scored the shootout winner in a back-and-forth contest.
