Webkinz Giveaway Headlines "Redemption Weekend"

KODAK, Tenn. - The first-place Tennessee Smokies return home to Smokies Park tomorrow for its "Redemption Weekend" series against the Jacksonville Suns. Headlining this five-game homestand, which will be a rematch of the 2009 Southern League Championship Series that saw the Suns beat the Smokies 3-games-to-1, will be a Smokies Webkinz Giveaway Saturday night.

Kicking things off Thursday will be the team's "Kids Eat Free" and "Kids Run the Bases" promotions. All kids 12-and-under in with paid admission to the 7:15 game get a free hot dog, chips and small Pepsi product. Following the game, they get to run off dinner with a lap around the bases courtesy of Shoney's Family Restaurants.

Friday's 7:15 game will bring fans all over East Tennessee another "Fireworks Friday" at Smokies Park, courtesy of Pepsi, Coors Light, Knoxville News Sentinel, WVLT-TV 8 and WIVK-FM.

Saturday's game is the team's Webkinz Giveaway Night, courtesy of WBIR-TV 10. The first 1,000 kids 12-and-under in with paid admission to the 6:15 game get a Smokies Webkinz collectable. Stadium gates for Saturday's game open at 5:00; fans are encouraged to get to the stadium early.

On Sunday, all Smokies Kids Club members get a free field level ticket to the Smokies' 2:00 game. It's also another "Family FUNday," in which many of the area's mascots will be on hand to interact with kids during the game.

Monday is all about value with $1 Hot Dog Night and Church Bulletin Night, where fans get $1 off a walk-up ticket purchase (up to four tickets) by bringing in a Sunday church bulletin to the Smokies ticket window for the 7:15 game.

Child (12-and-under) and senior (55+) field level or bleacher seats are $9/$7.
