Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE, WI (Aug. 23, 2007) -- Combining creatively offbeat events with traditional fan favorites and a relentlessly successful on-field product, the Milwaukee Wave's 2007-08 home season promises to entertain fans as never before.

The first of 15 home dates is Saturday, Nov. 3 when the Wave face one of three new entries into the Major Indoor Soccer League, the New Jersey Ironmen. It will be Hawaiian Luau Night, and the first of three games featuring the Family Four-Pack - four tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs for $60.

Every night will have a distinct theme, so that no two games will feel the same for fans at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Some are familiar, such as the Cousins Subs Mascot Game on March 9 and the Green Jersey Game for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin on March 16. Others are brand new, including:

Everyday Superheroes, Friday, Dec. 7 vs. New Jersey. Honoring everyday people who give of themselves, the Wave will host a pre-game dodgeball tournament featuring area fire departments and police departments, with the finals played at halftime. A military color guard and moment of silence will pay tribute to veterans past and present. And don't forget to be a hero yourself by giving blood at a pre-game blood drive conducted by the American Red Cross.

A Night With "Flair," presented by 102.1 FM, Friday, Jan. 4 vs. Philadelphia KiXX. Ahhh, yeah ... the defending champions are in town, so we're going to need you to move all your things to the U.S. Cellular Arena, in order to win a job search prize package. So if you could put on at least 15 pieces of flair and then do that for us, that'd be great. M'kay?

Soccer Mom Night, Saturday, Feb. 2 vs. California Cougars. Moms, you might already watch a lot of soccer, but we'll bet you don't get a hand massage! Get your friends together for an outing that starts with a Wave game, pampering in the concourse and special events just for you.

Don't forget that the Wave also host the Preseason Classic Oct. 5-6, three School Day Games and the 2008 MISL Championship Game next April 26.

On the field, the Wave have qualified for the playoffs for 14 consecutive seasons and nearly returned to the finals again in 2006-07, getting eliminated in the golden-goal tiebreaker in the semifinals by Detroit. With All-MISL first-team selection Greg Howes and All-Rookie selection Marcio Leite back, along with Coach Keith Tozer, the Wave again are a threat to capture their fifth world championship. Training camp begins Sept. 24.

Season tickets are already on sale, and packages include your seat to the 2008 Championship Game. Individual game tickets go on sale next week, and are available at the U.S. Cellular Arena box office, at all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling www.ticketmaster.com.
