MISL Releases Season Schedule

NEWARK, NJ (August 23, 2007) - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today its 2007-08 season schedule. As part of this schedule, the New Jersey Ironmen are set to open their inaugural season on the road against the expansion Orlando Sharks on Friday, October 26.
The Ironmen will begin the season with four straight road contests before making their home debut at Prudential Center on Saturday, December 1, against the Detroit Ignition. The season consists of 30 total games with a 15-match schedule at Prudential Center. The Ironmen's home slate consists of five contests on Friday, six on Saturday, three on Sunday and one Thursday game.
Ironmen head coach Omid Namazi commented on some positive aspects of starting the season with a road trip.
"Even though the first stretch is tough since we are on the road, it will give us a chance to face adversity and bond together as a team," he stated. "Hopefully, once we get back home, we will be ready to kick it into second gear."
While Coach Namazi anticipates the excitement of the December 1st home debut, he still will not let the expected electricity surrounding the night sway his focus.
"It will definitely be a night of celebration," he confirmed. "Personally, my focus is entirely upon preparing us to leave the arena with a win that night."
The six MISL clubs with the highest regular season win-loss percentage qualify for the postseason. The 2008 MISL Championship Series consists of three rounds: quarterfinals (April 11-13), semifinals (April 18-20), and the Championship Series Final on Saturday, April 26, at 8:00 p.m. ET at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee.
