MISL Releases 2007-2008 Schedule

Philadelphia, PA, August 23, 2007 - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today the 2007-2008 regular-season schedule for the 2007 MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX. The club kicks-off their 12th season of professional indoor soccer versus the Baltimore Blast at 1st Mariner Arena on Friday, October 19 at 7:35pm EST. The defense of the title will start with three games on the road, traveling to Detroit on Saturday, November 3, then Monterrey for a match against the expansion La Raza on Thursday, November 8. The KiXX then return to Philadelphia to open the home portion of their schedule versus Detroit on Saturday, November 10. All patrons will be treated to an all-day block party and the banner raising and ring ceremony to celebrate the team's 2007 Championship Season. Game-time is slated for 7:05 pm ET, with the doors opening at 6:00 pm ET.
The 30-game schedule consists of 15-home and 15-road dates, commencing on October 19 and concluding on Saturday, April 5 in California. The team will battle the Baltimore Blast, California Cougars, Detroit Ignition, Monterrey La Raza, Orlando Sharks, and Milwaukee Wave four times each, while facing the New Jersey Ironmen and the Chicago Storm three times each. Monterrey, Orlando, and New Jersey all joined the MISL this season as expansion teams, giving the League a total of nine active members.
The majority of the season's home schedule features weekend dates, with 12 of the 15 (80.0%) outings taking place on Saturday evening. One exception is Wednesday, February 13 when the KiXX battle the California Cougars in the club's 12th Annual School Day Game. The innovative program, sponsored in part by Philadelphia Newspapers In-Education, offers school-age youth educational elements combined with the excitement of professional indoor soccer. Philadelphia will play a Friday night game against California on November 30 and host one Sunday game against New Jersey on January 27.
The 2007-08 home schedule will feature various promotional giveaways including team photos, and bobbleheads. The club will also host a variety of theme nights including Boy and Girl Scout Night and Christian Night which includes a post-game concert.
Looking at a month-by-month breakdown, the KiXX begin the season with one contest in October, six contests in November, five in December, eight in January, four in February, five in March, and two in April before playoffs begin.
Philadelphia KiXX season tickets, 6-PaXX mini-plans are on sale now by calling the club's ticket office at 1-888-888-KiXX (5499). Season ticket holders will receive replica championship rings, as well as invitations to KiXX events like the Meet the Team Party and Meet the Team Luncheon. Single-game tickets will be available through the KiXX and the Wachovia Center Box Office, as well as online at www.comcasttix.com, beginning in early October.
