MISL Announces 2007-08 Regular Season Schedule
August 23, 2007 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2) News Release
WESTPORT, Conn. (Thursday, August 23, 2007) - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Thursday its regular-season match play schedule for the 2007-08 season. Each MISL team will play a 30-match (15 home/15 away) schedule for a total of 135 regular-season MISL matches. The majority of the League's 2007-08 regular season matches, more than 97 percent, are scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The regular season runs for 25 weeks, commencing on Friday, October 19 with the Baltimore Blast hosting the defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX at 1st Mariner Arena and concluding with four match- ups on Saturday, April 5.
The standings for the 2007-08 regular season are based on a single table of the nine Member Clubs. The nine MISL clubs competing in the 2007-08 season are the Baltimore Blast, California Cougars, Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, Milwaukee Wave, and the Philadelphia KiXX, with the addition of three expansion clubs, La Raza de Monterrey (MX), New Jersey Ironmen, and the Orlando Sharks. MISL clubs open formal training camps on Monday, September 24, while the three expansion clubs are permitted to open camp on Monday, September 17.
The six MISL clubs with the highest regular-season win-loss percentage at the end of the regular season qualify for the postseason. The 2008 MISL Championship Series consists of three rounds: the Quarterfinal Round (April 11-13), the Semifinal Round (April 18-20), and the Championship Series Final on Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee.
