Milwaukee Wave News Release
STOCKTON, CA - The Milwaukee Wave's Todd Dusosky matched his brother's Friday night hat trick with one of his own Saturday, rolling in an empty-net 3-point goal with 9.3 seconds left to clinch a 23-18 victory over the California Cougars in a Major Indoor Soccer League game.
Dusosky also had three assists for a 10-point night overall, as Milwaukee (10-8) won its fourth consecutive game. Greg Howes had two goals and two assists for Milwaukee, and Joe Hammes also scored twice. The previous night, in a 16-14 Wave win over California, Troy Dusosky had his first MISL hat trick, including a game-winner with 45 seconds to go.
Momentum turned one direction and then another all night, thanks to an inspired effort from the Cougars (5-14), who fired coach Troy Dayak on Saturday. The Cougars scored twice in the first three minutes and led as late as the first four minutes of the fourth quarter.
Milwaukee got goals from Howes and Marcelo Fontana to get back on top 20-18, then Dusosky foiled the Cougars' sixth-attacker ploy by flicking the ball into the empty net. It was the Wave's highest point output of the season. The MISL's top offensive team has reached the 20-point plateau three times this season.
The Wave return home Saturday to host the Chicago Storm at 6:05 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Arena. It's Faith and Family Night, and fans are invited onto the field after the game to listen to some inspirational words from Wave Chaplain Casey Seymour. At 3:30 p.m., the Armada F.C. faces the Chicago Tormenta. For tickets, call (414) 224-9283, stop by any Ticketmaster outlet or call www.ticketmaster.com.
